Design Intent

“Dissolving the barrier between domestic shelter and the natural ecology of the land.”

Living enveloped by the botanical rhythm of seasons.

Spatial Narrative & Indian Context

Built for a botanist and her family, Garden Residence was conceived not as a house with a garden, but as a garden with pavilions to inhabit. The footprint is articulated into three connected low-profile pavilions nestled around existing mature mango trees.

Floor-to-ceiling glass doors retract fully into wall pockets, effectively turning the main living pavilion into an open veranda during pleasant autumn and spring evenings.

Native flora, water rills, and permeable brick pathways ensure that storm run-off is 100% recharged into the local water table, preserving the rich biodiversity of the suburban plot.
