The Light House
An interior architecture masterclass in luminous minimalism, natural oak and sculptural shadows.
Design Intent
“A living canvas where shadows move softly across handcrafted mineral walls.”
Choreographing daylight as the primary building element.
Spatial Narrative & Indian Context
The Light House strips away excess ornamentation to examine how natural daylight transforms spatial volume throughout the day. Commissioned by a prominent contemporary art collector, the penthouse required gallery-like tranquility coupled with warm domestic comfort.
We introduced a cohesive palette of chalk lime-wash, white oak joinery, raw linen textiles and honed travertine. Every door is designed floor-to-ceiling with invisible pivot hinges, creating seamless uninterrupted horizontal sightlines.
Lighting design was developed in parallel with spatial planning. Indirect cove details and museum-grade recessed 2700K illumination highlight art works without creating glare, producing an ethereal warmth after dusk.
